Not all labels are created equal, and picking the right material can be the difference between a label that lasts and one that fades, tears or peels off before it should. Here's a quick guide to the main materials we stock and where each one works best.
Matt white and gloss white are our most popular everyday options, giving a clean, professional finish for general product labelling, packaging and retail use. Gloss adds a bit more shine and works well for branding where you want labels to stand out, while matt gives a more understated, easy-to-read finish.
Clear labels, in both matt and gloss finishes, are ideal when you want your packaging or product to show through, so the label looks like it's printed directly onto the surface. These are popular for cosmetics, food packaging and retail products where presentation matters.
Brown kraft labels give a natural, recycled-paper look that suits eco-friendly branding, craft products, food packaging and gift items where you want a more rustic, handmade feel.
Weatherproof labels, available in both laser and inkjet compatible versions, are designed to resist water, oil and general wear, making them suitable for outdoor use, horticulture, automotive parts or anything that needs to survive handling and the elements.
Removable labels use a lighter adhesive that lifts away cleanly without leaving residue, which is useful for promotional labels, temporary pricing or anything that needs to come off without damaging the surface underneath. For most permanent applications, our standard permanent adhesive materials are the better choice.
Fluorescent orange and blockout white are more specialised options, useful for warning labels, high-visibility stock control, or when you need to completely cover up existing text or barcodes underneath.
